BIG CREEK & THE NINJA WIN AMX NATIONAL
TITLES AT SOLD OUT 'MASSACRE'

In front of a furious SRO crowd at the Grand Prairie Convention Center in Hutchinson, KS on June 28, GREGG 'Big Creek' VAN DE CREEK and DUSTIN 'The Ninja' BLAKE battled their way to victory and Warfare Xtreme National Titles at Warfare X Massacre.

VAN DE CREEK (Manhattan, KS, 4-0) dominated Wichita's Tyler Cortis (2-1) with an overhead body slam and devastating ground n' pound attack to win his 3rd straight TKO decision in the Warfare cage. Referee Mike Willms stopped the carnage at 47 seconds into Round One, declaring the 6'6", 245 lb Creek the first Warfare Xtreme AMX National Heavyweight Champion.

Van De Creek hopes to defend his title against the top competition Warfare X can offer, and prove that he's one of the best new big men in the sport.

BLAKE (Denver, CO, 7-1), stepped away from his Muay Thai background to challenge his opponent on the ground. He relied on his experience to hold off the solid challenge of Salina's Isaiah 'Ice' Patzkowsky (2-2), getting the duke at 1:18 of the second round with a triangle choke submission. The Ninja captures the AMX National Featherweight Title with the victory.

HOMICIDE vs THUNDER

The Main Event of the evening featured Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Ernest 'Thunder' Bell (Hutchinson, KS, 2-1) vs RON 'Homicide' JACKSON (Kansas City, MO, 7-1).

Jackson’s deceptive strength proved a decisive factor in his victory over Bell. Homicide displayed several devastating slams, including a Samoan drop at the beginning of the first round, which stunned Bell. Bell was never fully able to implement his submission strategy.

More slams throughout rounds one and two further disoriented Bell enough to allow Jackson to secure the victory via submission heel hook in round two.

BOXER MAKES MMA DEBUT

In other action, MIKEY 'Left Hook' GLENN (Hutchinson, KS, 1-0) made the transition from boxing to MMA with a win over Jonathan Stevenson (Concordia, KS, 0-1). Glenn started the match with a barrage of hard punches, never let up, and ended the fight quickly via TKO ref stoppage in :23 of the first round, to the roar of Glenn’s hometown crowd. 'Left Hook' is the current Golden Gloves Oklahoma / Kansas Heavyweight Boxing Champion.

THE LIBRARIAN REMAINS UNDEFEATED

JAKE 'The Librarian' LINDSEY
(Manhattan, KS, 3-0) won his third straight Warfare X bout with a quick first round submission victory over 'Crazy' Tim Witte (Salina, KS, 1-1). This win solidifies Lindsey as the top WarfareX AMX Lightweight, and guarantees him an AMX title bout in the Fall of 08.

Lindsey secured the win with a rear naked choke tapout at 1:59 of round one.

Possibly the most exciting fight of the night belonged to RIGO 'El Loco' GARCIA (Hutchinson, KS, 1-0) vs Brandon 'B-Rad' Bietz (Salina, KS, 2-2). Garcia, with his hometown Hutchinson crowd firmly behind him, engaged in a display of back and forth ground action with Bietz in round one. With the second round similar, the tides turned in Garcia’s favor when he trapped Bietz against the cage, and landed several unanswered blows to the head of B-Rad, causing referee Mike Willms to stop the fight, and the roof to blow off the venue while Garcia performed his victory dance.

In the feel good story of the night, ROB 'The Emperor' McCALEB (Hutchinson, KS, 1-1) defeated Richard 'The Lion' Westmoland (Hutchinson, KS, 0-1) via key lock submission in 2:13 of round one. McCaleb exploded out of his corner delivering several shots to the head of The Lion. Westmoland, unfazed by the blows, took McCaleb to the mat and proceeded to land several hard unanswered blows to the face of The Emperor . Just when it looked like it was all over for McCaleb, he managed to sweep Westmoland, positioning himself to set up his submission victory.

TONY '24 Karat' GOLDSBY (Manhattan, KS, 1-3) defeated Jake 'The Snake' Cutbirth (Salina, KS, 0-1) via guillotine choke in the first round. This one was all Goldsby, as he rushed out of his corner and surprised his opponent. With Goldsby, Lindsey, and Van De Creek all victorious at Massacre, it makes Combative Sport Center in Mahhattan an outstanding 9-0 in the Warfare X cage!

CURTISS ROBERTS (Salina, KS, 2-1-1) picked up a nice win over a very game opponent in Ty Immel (Salina, KS, 0-1) with a submission choke at 1:09 of round one. Roberts glaring intensity before the bell, shined through with solid performance at Massacre.

In the opening contest, LIL JON HOLLIS (Salina, KS, 3-2) secured his second victory in the Warfare cage by defeating a tough fighter in Travis Weatherhead (Concordia, KS, 0-2). Hollis and Weatherhead exchanged blows early on to the delight of the crowd. Hollis moved in, and took Weatherhead to the ground. This is where it would stay, with Hollis securing the submission.

Warfare X World Lightweight Champion JOE 'The Nose' WILK made an appearance, and threw out an open challenge to any lightweight fighter who wants a shot at his belt. Wilk explained to the crowd that his scheduled opponent (who backed out) was suffering from a sever and sudden onset of 'vaginitis'. Gotta love The Nose.
